Quick daily devotions

Short & Sweet: Measure Up

7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not […]

Short & Sweet: 3 Signs You’re Building on the Rock

We live very close to Lake Michigan. While we go to the big lake most often in the summer months, we enjoy it best in the fall and winter, after the tourists have gone home for the season. This winter the Midwest experienced days of turbulent wind, especially along the lake shore. The waves […]

Short & Sweet: Bread Enough and Some to Spare

“But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that […]

To Do-ers List: What He Says

Princes also sit and speak against me, but your servant meditates on your statutes. Psalm 119:23  My mind used to be a battlefield, a theater of war used expertly by the enemy to oppress, control and render me useless for the cause of Christ. Darts of the enemy used to fly unchecked, inflicting damage on […]

Short & Sweet: Anyone

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. Luke 9:23 Anyone. Anyone is welcome. Anyone can come. Any tribe, any tongue, any religion. No one is excluded. All have sinned, but all are welcome. Anyone can come […]

Hello, everyone! Caregiver question:
I have a question for you all today. I am looking to interview 5 to 10 people to gather information for a book I am writing. The book will be for people who are caretakers for their loved ones. I have been through 5 major illnesses in my own family and can speak to processes/needs that will help caretakers, but I would like to talk to more people than just myself!
I am looking to interview people who are or have been caretakers of loved ones due to a chronic illness, ongoing end-of-life situations, or a serious acute situation such as car accidents, injuries, babies born with defects/ chromosome issues, and the like.
If that person is you or you know a caretaker who would consent to be interviewed, can you message me or respond to this post? You don't need to put your contact info in this post, just indicate that you are interested, and I will contact you.
Thank you so much!

July 9, 2020 By MaryK Leave a Comment

Psalm 23 is one of the the most well-known parts of the Bible. People who do not claim to be religious can quote parts of Psalm 23. Christians have become so familiar with this beloved psalm we almost cease to hear it. What we need is a Psalm 23 remix- a fresh look at an […]

Lent

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. As a child, I remember the solemn mass of Ash Wednesday and being anointed with ashes in the sign of the cross on my forehead. As an adult, I attend a Protestant church, but I’ve always loved the traditional church calendar recognized by the Catholic Church. There[Read More…]
