Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:13
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday, because it causes me to stop and reflect on the many blessings God has given me. Even in the years that were difficult, I could always find something to be thankful for.
This year, we’re again offering a Thanksgiving contest. I’d simply like you to reflect on the above verse and then share with us in the comment section below what one of your gifts is that God has given you this year that you are thankful for. It can be a few words or a longer story, but I’d like you to share why the gift is meaningful to you. The contest is open to both adults and children, and we’re offering two separate prizes. You have until the end of the month to post your comment. Be sure to check back the first week of December. I will announce the winner and leave instructions on how to have the winner send me his or her contact information so that I can mail the prize.
For the adults, we are offering a hand-knitted prayer shawl that I (Jane) made. For the children, we will be awarding another prize, yet to be determined.
So, let’s encourage each other and lift up our prayers of thanks to Jesus this Thanksgiving.
Blessings to you all!

My gift is from God. My gift is helping and caring about others. I love to take care of babies because they are so cute and silly. also I like to care for elders. One way I care about elders is I can make them happy and bring them gifts and share Jesus with them also.

Happy Thanksgiving,
I’m really glad I get to take a few days off of school to spend with my family, how about you? I’m really thankful for really every thing that God has givin me, especially my family, techers and friends at school and church. There is just so much to be thankful for if you think about it. I mean think of all the books and decoration and all the other things you fave at your house. People in other countries sometimes don’t have food parents of anything like that that you have. I just have to say I am so thankful for my family, they are so important to me becase not everyone even has a family, but you and I do, so that is something that you just have to be thankful for.

Dear Ms. Kane and Ms. Jane
The best gift I have recieved was my cat Jordan. Jordan was unexpected that day when my first grade class went on a field trip.So my class and i were heading to thisleberry farms and my mom tagged along with us for an extra pair of eyes to watch us wild children. When it was story time in the barn i saw the cutest cat ever! My whole lass held the cat and admired it as if it was thier very own.At the time my mom was standing by the owner of the farm and told her how i always wanted a cat and the woman told my mom to take this sweet cat and have as a pet.my mother thanked her and told me that she was ours and we named her Jordan.God worked a miricale that day and she is still a part of our lives today as a little 4 year old.

I am thankful for the strength and perseverance of so many of my friends who have consistently prayed for God’s physical healing for so many chronic problems I deal with. I am thankful for their prayers, because I had given up praying for my own healing! It is ironic, because I am a strong prayer warrior for other people, but I gave up on myself and believing that God would answer “my prayers for me.” After 10 years of prayers by my friends who refused to give up, I met a wonderful doctor in February 2012. He has helped me to loose 100lbs, get off of two narcotic pain relievers. He has helped me to learn to eat in a healthy and nutritious way that I can continue for the rest of my life, and I no longer need to use a wheel chair, a walker or even a cane! I excercise every day, and on Thanksgiving of this year I reached my goal of walking in a 5K event! I do not believe any of this would have happened if my friends had not refused to stop praying! And I am so thankful that they “prayed” this miracle transformation of my life.
