This is a giveaway for the people attending the Ultimate Homeschool Expo for my topic today on Publishing Your Young Writer’s Work. All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post. Tell me about your young writer, or if you are the young writer yourself, tell me about your writing and what it is that you would like to have critiqued. If you have a long novel, I probably won’t have time to do the whole thing, but I could look at a chapter.
I am excited to meet you all and look forward to seeing what you have to say!
Blessings,
Jane

Hi Jane,
My daughter Hannah will be in 9th grade next year. She LOVES to write and wants to write novels and poetry. She always has a writing project going! Currently, she is working on the introductory chapter for her new book idea. She brought it to me a couple days ago and asked me to look over it and give her some feedback. I will definitely help her with what I know, but I think it would be an amazing thing for her if she could have it critiqued by someone else as well.
If you decide to offer your critiquing services next year, we would be interested in that also.
Thank you,
Angela

Angela,
How exciting for Hannah! Does she outline her books before she starts writing, or does she just go for it? I’d be interested to hear her approach!
I’m definitely praying about starting a critiquing service as part of my freelance business, so I will get back to you on that.
Thanks so much for telling me about Hannah. I will let you know if she is the winner soon!
Blessings,
Jane

Good morning! I listen to your seminar with my three granddaughters; Samantha, age 13, Saerah, age 10, and Gracie, age 8. They have all participated in an online challenge to write a novel in a month at ywp.nanowrimo.org. They have done this for two years. For this last month of school, we will be editing and revising their books and hopefully getting them published and bound locally. Samantha and Saerah are already developing their ideas for next year’s book.

Linda,
What a wonderful project to do with your granddaughters–and ambitious! I have heard of the Nano challenge, but haven’t done it yet. It is great that at their ages they aren’t afraid to tackle a book project. Thanks for writing!

Dear Angie and Linda,
Since just two of you have responded, I will be happy to look at the projects for both of you. Contact me at janevanosdol@me.com, so that we can arrange the details. Thanks!
