Today is Ash Wednesday, the start of a time of repentance and prayer on our journey to Easter Sunday. I’d like to repost a short devotion I wrote last year to set the tone for this 40-day season. Whether you will be attending services today or praying on your own, I trust that this will be a time for you to deepen your walk with Jesus.

I was just reading a post by Mary Kane on the Mustard Seed parable because I was searching for information about the tiny seed and the tree. I think Mary may have made a mistake in saying that the mustard tree is an annual. There are mustard plants that are annuals, but the tree is defined as an evergreen. I don’t think a plant can be classified as an evergreen and be an annual.
Thank you for your comment. I checked my sources and they are listed correctly but they offer differing opinions on the type of plant Jesus is speaking about. I amended by document to clear up any confusion.
